The National Union of Students called for nationwide protests on August 19, 2015. Anthony attended the rally in Melbourne's CBD where protesters pleaded with the Federal Government to stop planned cuts to higher education and deregulation of university fees. The rally protested against "constant and vicious attacks" on pensioners' living conditions by the Victorian and Federal governments.
